Lincoln’s Young Professionals Group hosted their fifth annual lunch and awards program on April 24th.  Katie Tauer, 2012 YPG chairperson, provided an overview of the success and current initiatives of the group that has now grown to over 800 members.

The following awards were presented: 2012 YPG STATEment Award – Eric Dinger, Thought District.  This award honors a young leader within the state of Nebraska that is making a difference for the betterment of the state through leadership, professional involvement, community service, vitality and ensuring that Nebraska is a better place to live for future generations.

Corporate Ovation Award- State Farm Insurance Company. This award recognizes an organization that excels in its efforts to attract, retain, and develop young professionals.

Four under Forty Awards: This award recognizes four individuals for their leadership, professional involvement, and selfless service to the community to foster its growth, vitality and ensuring that it’s a better place to live for future generations.  Winners were Andrea Auer with Union Bank & Trust Co., Amy Kloefkorn with Northwestern Mutual, Jon Read with Union Bank & Trust Co. and Amanda Thonen with Design Data.

YP of the Year – Chad Hood – United Way.  This award is the top honor and is selected based on community involvement, business accomplishments, involvement in YPG, awards, and special recognitions. This year’s YP of the Year recognizes an individual for their leadership, professional involvement, and selfless service to the community to foster its growth and vitality to make it a better place to live for future generations.
