Christian Heritage is pleased to announce the promotion of AJ Santos
to the position of family outreach director. This position entails oversight of both the Destination…Dad and the Family Finding programs.
Santos joined Christian Heritage in 2010 to serve as recruiter/trainer of volunteers with the Destination…Dad team. Prior to that, he taught psychology and American government at Pius X and was a GED/ABE instructor at the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS). While at NDCS, he came to know Christian Heritage through his involvement with implementing the inmate parenting program that ultimately became the Destination…Dad program.
Destination…Dad was developed in 2008 after NDCS asked Christian Heritage to teach parenting skills to incarcerated dads and help prepare them to reunite with their children upon their release. The Family Finding outreach launched in 2013, and its goal is to instill renewed hope and improve well-being for children in out-of-home care, as well as those who have aged out of the system.
Santos was raised in Hastings and is a graduate of St. Cecilia’s (Hastings) and Nebraska Wesleyan University. He lives in Lincoln and is actively involved in the life of his son.
