The transition of leadership from Chairman Richard Cabela to his younger brother, co-founder and current vice chairman will be effective in June. Richard Cabela will assume the role of Chairman Ameritas at the same time, which coincides with the Cabela’s 2013 annual meeting of its shareholders. Jim Cabela has helped oversee Cabela’s grow into a well-known outdoor brand that sells gear through catalogs, its website and retail stores. This transition allows the company will continue to honor the Cabela family’s focus on customer service and passion for the outdoors.
