Pamela Dingman of Waverly, NE, has been selected as the recipient of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) 2013 Entrepreneur Award. This award is given to women who work to create an engineering, scientific or technology-based business and serve as an inspiration to other women. She is a registered professional civil engineer with more than 20 years of extensive experience in the area of land development. Dingman is the owner of Engineering Design Consultants (EDC), a civil engineering firm she acquired in 2006. EDC is a woman owned company that provides civil engineering, surveying, land planning and construction administration services in Nebraska and Iowa.
Dingman received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln in 1991 and is a Registered Professional Engineer in the states of Nebraska and Iowa. In 2006 she was named one of the Top Ten Business Women in America by the American Business Women’s Association. Dingman was the first woman to receive the Eastern Nebraska Society of Professional Engineers-Young Engineer of the Year Award and the Nebraska Society of Professional Engineers-Young Engineer of the Year Award in 2000.
