Jose Soto, Vice President for Access, Equity and Diversity at Southeast Community College, recently was appointed to two state agencies.

Soto was appointed as a member of the Selective Service System Local Board in Nebraska, and he was reappointed as a member of the Nebraska State Advisory Committee by the United States Commission on Civil Rights.  Soto was assigned to a Board position in Region III of the Selective Service System. Soto received a certificate of appointment from Lawrence G. Romo, director of the Selective Service.

Soto’s reappointment to the Nebraska SAC is for two years and became effective on Nov. 1. He is one of 12 members on the SAC. Members serve without compensation and assist the Commission with its fact-finding, investigative and information dissemination functions.
