The Tiger Rock Academy
would like to congratulate martial artist and member, Mariah Wailes, and their youngest staff member, Aaron Searls, on their recent personal achievements.
Mariah Wailes, a local UNL student and long-time martial artist at Tiger Rock Academy, tested for and achieved the rank of 4th Degree Black Belt. As part of the requirements to test for this rank, martial arts must test before a national board of examiners and Masters. This is a milestone achievement in Tiger Rock Martial Arts that can take students 7-10 years or more of consistent training and passing of previous ranks just to be eligible for. The test itself involves multiple areas of a physical test of artistry, conditioning, and effectiveness. The test also requires oral presentation and knowledge based questions related to sports science and kinesiology, anatomy, history, training principles and martial arts philosophy.
Aaron Searls achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in March, the benchmark goal and highest rank for Boy Scouts. In addition to being an Eagle Scout, Searls is also a 4th Degree Black Belt, highly accomplished tournament champion and staff instructor at Tiger Rock Martial Arts—which was actually started here in Lincoln by another Eagle Scout.
