Union Bank & Trust Promotes Jill Smith and Kate Stous

Union Bank & Trust (www.ubt.com) recently promoted Jill Smith to Events & Community Engagement Officer and Kate Stous to Digital Experience & Strategy Officer.

Jill Smith

Smith joined Union Bank in 2004 in Customer Service and joined the marketing department as Events Coordinator in 2010.  With over 12 years of experience at UBT, Smith brings a strong blend of customer service, hospitality, marketing and leadership to her new position.  She will coordinate and manage customer, employee and community events for Union Bank, whose corporate culture highly encourages community connections.  Smith drives all aspects of the bank’s community outreach efforts including chairing the Magic Moments, Community Involvement and United Way Committees and oversees the management of the Financial Assistance In Retirement (FAIR) Program.

Recognizing a need for resources, education, and networking for event professionals, Smith founded EventLNK in 2012 and chairs its board of directors. She sits on the UNL HRTM Advisory Board, Community Volunteer Council, is a member of Junior League of Lincoln, serves on the Young Professionals Group Leadership Council, and is a past Volunteer Partners board member.  Lincoln YPG and the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce presented Smith the 4 Under 40 Award in 2013.

Kate Stous - Union Bank

Kate Stous

Stous joined Union Bank in 2014 as the Communications Coordinator in the Marketing Department and has most recently held the position of Digital Marketing Coordinator.  In her new role, Stous will be responsible for identifying and supporting the implementation of digital financial management tools and applications as well as managing the ongoing development of UBTgo.  She will provide guidance to all bank divisions as new digital services are assessed for their clients.  Stous also facilitates the Lens advisory group which provides the bank with a millennial aged perspective on technology, services and communications.

She graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Journalism degree in Advertising and Public Relations from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.  Stous is a member of the Lincoln Young Professionals Group and the Lincoln chapter of the American Marketing Association.  Active in the community, Stous serves on the American Heart Association Go Red for Women Auction Committee, is a St. Monica’s Amazing Chase competitor and volunteers at the Berean Church Commons Coffee Shop.
