The Water Smart Company

Hunt Irrigation, Inc. The Water Smart Company has been serving Lincoln and the surrounding communities since 1997. Hunt started off as an irrigation-only company, but as the company has grown, so have the services they offer. Hunt Irrigation now offers commercial and residential irrigation installation and service, LED outdoor lighting, commercial and residential drainage, backflow testing, centrifugal and vertical pump installation, CAD services, and snow removal.

Jeremy Hunt, CEO, is a Certified Irrigation Contractor (CIC) and Certified Landscape Auditor (CLIA) by the Irrigation Association. Jeremy is also a certified member of the PSN network through Watertronics. Hunt also staffs two Grade 6 Water Operators (backflow testing) certified through the State of Nebraska, along with a team of highly qualified members—from the office staff, Joy (office manager) and Teresa (scheduling manager), to the field staff Gonzalo Jr (service manager) B (install foreman) to the field personal Gonzalo Sr., Orlando, Nahum, and Ethan to John our CAD designer between all of these folks there is over a half a century of experience.

Hunt Irrigation specializes in conservation, whether it be through proprietary irrigation designs or their use of modern irrigation technologies such as pressure regulated heads, weather sensors, and smart controllers or the use of LED lamps in outdoor lighting fixtures. The staff at Hunt Irrigation is always learning and growing as professionals, and attend multiple CEU and BMP seminars each year. Each team member believes in the Hunt Irrigation mission and understands that it is very important to be good stewards of their industry, and with good stewardship comes great responsibility in doing the right thing for each client and their lawn and landscapes. Doing more with less has never been more important.

In the 23 years Hunt Irrigation has served the community, 2020 has proven to be a true test of their grit as a company. They have had some of the most bizarre weather this spring with 40-degree temperature swings in a 24-hour period, that pesky COVID-19 virus, and a slowing economy. It has been and continues to be Hunt’s hope that the community will come together and rise above these hurdles no differently than Lincolnites and Nebraskans have in the past. Whether it was the dust bowl of 1935, the economic hardships in 2008, or the floods of 2019, we always seem to find our way through the storm as a community. With the current hurdles at hand, Hunt Irrigation has put together a comprehensive COVID-19 plan that will allow their company to continue to offer their services to current and future clients.

A Letter to the Hunt Irrigation Family

The past few weeks have been uncertain and difficult, and we at Hunt Irrigation hope you and your loved ones are healthy and safe. Our hearts go out to all of those impacted by COVID-19 victims as well as all their family and friends. While performing our services, we will be making a few modifications.

  1. If possible, we would ask that the water to your irrigation system be turned on when we arrive so that we are not entering your home to maintain social distancing practices. If you are not familiar with how to turn the water on to your irrigation system, our service staff will be able to provide you with direction when they arrive on site.
  2. If we do have to enter your home, our employees will be wearing masks upon entry to protect themselves as well as your family.
  3. Meetings on service calls, estimates, and any other physical interaction be kept to a minimum number of people.

We at Hunt Irrigation believe in the power and resilience of the human spirit to help uplift one another especially during these trying times. Our community keeps us going and we are so grateful to each of you for being a part of our Hunt Irrigation family. As we move through this situation, please take care of yourself, your families, and our community as we are all in this together. We would also like to offer our assistance to those in need. Should you be unable, due to age, physical disability, or employment issues need items to be picked up and delivered to your home such as groceries, and personal hygiene items, please feel free to reach out to us. We would be happy to help out in this capacity. Thank you for your past business and for putting your trust in our company during this time of uncertainty.
