Two years ago, Lisa McClung joined the People’s City Mission team as the Community Relations Director and has enjoyed her duties such as managing all of the mission’s community events (Run 4 the Homeless, Fright Hunger Food Drive, Starry Nights Christmas Tree Festival and Annual Banquet), maintaining business relations, managing donation drives and seeking out donations and fundraising opportunities.  The People’s City Mission is in the largest safety net for the homeless and less fortunate of Lincoln.

Since 1907, the People’s City Mission has cared for a majority of the city’s homeless and near homeless. They operate a homeless shelter that houses up to 395 men, women and children every day, a Homeless Prevention Center that hands out food, clothing, household items and other necessary items to the less fortunate of our community and a FREE Medical Clinic that sees our community’s uninsured.  All told, they served over 28,000 people in the last year.  People’s City Mission is in the top 1% of all charities nationwide for financial efficiency with 91.9% of all donations benefiting the homeless and impoverished of Lincoln.
