Meet Angel Wylie, an Admin/Purchaser at Maven Tile and Home Design (maventileandhomedesign.com).
Tell us a little about your business. – Maven Tile and Home Design is a full service design studio that has an amazing collection of specialty tiles and a team of experienced and talented designers ready to turn your dreams into reality!
How did you get started in the business? – I was the daycare teacher for our designer’s daughter. One day, she mentioned they were looking for an admin/purchaser and thought I’d be a perfect fit. The rest is history! I absolutely love working at Maven Tile and Home Design—it’s the perfect career and company for me!
Tell us a little about your family. – My mom lives in Georgia. I am the oldest of 4 children. My 17 year old brother lives with me and my fiancé. Between the 3 of us, we have 2 cats, a Bugg (Boston Terrier and Pugmix), and a sugar glider.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – I love to spend time with my family, read, and watch documentaries
What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I was born in Florida and was living in Port Charlotte, FL when Hurricane Charley hit in 2004. I was 2 and my sister was only a couple of months old
Who inspires you? – My mom, Stacey Post, inspires me everyday to be a kind, positive, and loving person. She is strong and resilient and I can only hope to become half the woman she is.
If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Kind. I try to go out of my way by complimenting anyone I come across. Everyone loves that feeling when you get complimented so why not be the one to distribute smiles and good feelings?
What local nonprofit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? – The Cat House, Voices of Hope, Friendship Home, and Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach. They are all amazing organizations that do so much good for our community!
What is your favorite movie? – The Princess Bride. I watched this for the first time at my grandma’s house when I was younger and it’s been my favorite since!
If you could have a super power, what would it be? – “If I could have any superpower, I would have to choose the power to heal. Imagine being able to fix everything from a scraped knee to a broken heart. I think it’s the kind of power that would make the world a lot better.”
If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? – “If I could have dinner with one famous person, I’d choose Susan B. Anthony. Her dedication to fighting for women’s rights and everything she achieved is truly inspiring. I imagine a conversation with her would be incredibly eye-opening, and it would be fascinating to hear her firsthand perspective on key moments in history from her time.”
