Meet Yolanda Sifuentez, a Catering Lead at Talon Room (talonroom.com).
Tell us a little about your business. – I work at the Talon Room. We are a catering business in the heart of downtown Lincoln in the old Spaghetti works building on 12th & Pst. We cater Weddings, Receptions, and work Holiday parties.
How did you get started in the business? – I started as an extra part time employee as a busser, and recently been hired full time to help our Head Chef Matt Rogge in the kitchen, the best opportunity I have been given.
Tell us a little about your family. – I Have 4 Beautiful daughters and 10 Beautiful Grandchildren and my precious white westie dog name Lucky jr. They are my World!
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – I love to spend time with my Family and watch my grandkids play their sports basketball and volleyball.
What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – Live it, Do it, Enjoy it.
What local nonprofit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? I absolutely Love working for the Talon Room because they are involved in many nonprofit organizations. We recently hosted a Fundraising event by providing our Venue ,Food and Beverages at a discounted price for Everybody Get a Chance. Helping youth in our community the opportunity to play sports they reached above their fundraising goal. Also the Talon Room had a event with Brave De and we was in the auction for a in home catering for 16 people that was very nice as well. We also have many groups that we donate food to help our community.
Who inspires you? – My grandchildren the way they are so involved in school, keeping their grades up, sports and other activities. In addition, the way they are breaking stereotypes of children their age by staying off social media.
What is your favorite book or the last good book you read. – The last good book I read was the Rain of Gold by Victor Villasenor.
