Cornhusker Bank will hold its second annual youth fair on August 11th, 2012, at 63rd and Highway 2 from 1 P.M. to 3 P.M. This fair is free to the public and presented as an element of the bank’s Youth Financial Program’s commitment to increasing the financial literacy of children in our community.
The Youth Program features products which match the needs parents have to help start smart financial habits for their children. One product which is particularly useful to this end is PowerUp, a round up product, which allows adults to automatically round up a pre-determined amount to their children’s savings accounts.
This year’s youth fair focuses on Safety and Savings. There will be entertaining games with a financial focus, as well as traditional fun activities, including a bounce house, a petting zoo, and a balloon artist. The Safety component of the fair stresses not only the safety of saving your money in a bank, but also the personal safety issues every family faces.
