Tell us a little about your family. – I am married to Lisa, my college sweetheart, and we have been blessed with four sons and seven daughters.  I like to say that I come to work so that I can rest!

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – That would be witnessing the birth of each of my children and the loss of my parents ten years ago when they and two of their friends were killed by a drunk driver.  These experiences help me to appreciate each day and to strive to make the best of every day.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Something outdoors.  I love hunting, hiking, biking and boating; really anything active and outdoors with friends and family.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I had the unique experience last year of shooting two deer with one shot of my muzzleloader while still wearing my business suit, all in my back yard.  And yes, it was in season, I had two permits and there were several witnesses.

What are you the most proud of? – Hearing my daughter say that the best part of a recent trip to Chicago was the missionary time we spent serving the hungry at a soup kitchen and taking food and clothing to homeless people living in cardboard shanties on the streets.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – A great piece of advice that I received from a client who was still teaching exercise classes well into her eighties was that you can’t wait until you get old to take care of yourself.  You have to start now.

What is the one goal you would most like to accomplish? – Heaven.

What is your greatest talent that you don’t utilize in your daily work life? – I love to cook but no one has actually ever paid me to do it.

Which talent would you most like to have? – A good singing voice.  I think the view from the choir loft would be much better too.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – I just finished Unbroken, the harrowing and exhilarating story of survival and redemption about the life of Louis Zamperini.  Definitely on my top five all-time best reads.

What is your favorite movie? Master and Commander

What is your favorite TV show? – That would be watching Husker Football with family and friends.

What is your favorite Lincoln restaurant? – The Venue for a date night with my wife and Famous Dave’s for a lunch outing with the boys.
