Oasis has provided reliable quality employees for temporary, temp to perm, and permanent placement for over 20 years in the Lincoln area. They listen to their customers’ wants and search diligently for people who best fit their needs. Darin would rather have a competitor fill a position than fill an opening with a sub-par employee. He understands that retaining a satisfied customer for the long term is far more important than a short term profit.

Tell us a little about your family. – With two much older siblings I was, according to my mother, an “unplanned blessing.” Very much love to her and my father, who passed away this year, for their ceaseless patience, abundant love, and strong moral compass. Wishing the wheel of fortune symbol lands on the third reel and knowing the walleye are always biting in heaven.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – Crashing into a tree in the back country on the vertical back side of a volcano in Chile, an extreme high immediately turned to a low. Hanging upside down by my board in a drift hole next to the tree with broken ribs, darkness loomed as I realized no one knew I was there. Prayers were answered that day.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Relax, watch a Husker game, golf, or ride my motorcycle.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I’ve broken 14 bones including my scull when my front teeth were ripped out by a basketball net.

What are you the most proud of? – The teamwork within our office. We have a cohesive unit that pulls together to get the job done on a daily basis no matter how difficult the task. They stay late without being asked or expectation of praise. I’m confident in their ability to fill most any job order I bring them.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – Listen intently and not just for your turn to speak. People will tell you what they want and need if you just listen. Then don’t over promise but over deliver when addressing those needs.

What is the one goal you would most like to accomplish? – To have Oasis Staffing be synonymous with customer service.

How would your friends describe you? – They would probably tell you a story about when I did something dumb or entertaining. Hopefully they would then qualify it by saying I’m trustworthy and a good friend.

What are your greatest talents that you don’t utilize in your daily work life? – Cooking or snowboarding.

Which talent would you most like to have? – ESP

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? – I’d have the tattoo on my lower back removed. (Joking.) I would take 20 strokes off my handicap and dominate the PGA tour.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – A Whole New Mind

What is your favorite movie? – Caddyshack

What is your favorite TV show? – Archer

What is your favorite Lincoln restaurant? – Outback Steakhouse and Texas Roadhouse. I guess places that serve partially cooked red meat and have the word “house” in their name.
