For over 60 years, Sadoff Iron & Metal has offered scrap metal recycling with prompt, professional service, competitive pricing, and environmental focus. Dave Noell is an Account Representative for Sadoff Iron & Metal.
Tell us a little about your business. – Sadoff Iron & Metal Company is a third generation owned and operated company. We’re known for our integrity; building trust with customers as we help improve their processes and bottom-lines.
How did you get started in the business? – Prior to working at Sadoff, I had never been part of a scrap metal recycling business. I had little to no knowledge of the business, but through time, training, and various roles I have had the opportunity to work and grow with Sadoff.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Helping customers is my biggest challenge, specifically in being able to meet all their needs. Not all customers are the same; some prefer customer service while others want the best price. Luckily we offer both.
Tell me a little about your family. – I am married to my wife, Amy, and we have a son named Brody. Amy is very supportive and is a wonderful mother, and my son is a great kid with lots of energy. If your parents ever say to you “I hope your kids are like just you” you’re in trouble! Sorry Mom, I love you!
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – I like working on projects at my house whether yard work or updating the bathroom. I also like golfing, fishing and watching college football.
What are you the most proud of? – My son, Brody. Kids really help change people and he has been the most rewarding experience of my life.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – If you don’t agree or like something, work harder, get promoted and change it.
If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Dependable.
If you had a theme song, what would it be? – The theme song from Knight Rider would be a good fit.
If you could have a super power, what would it be? – I would choose the ability to see the future.
What is your greatest talent that you don’t utilize in your daily work life? – Unfortunately, my talents are few and far between so I have to use them all daily.
Which talent would you most like to have? – I would really like to have a photographic memory.
If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – I’ve always wanted to start my own hunting program; I’d name it “Fear the Spear”.
What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – Anything by John Grisham.
What is your favorite movie? – It’s a toss-up between Tombstone and Platoon.
What is your favorite TV show? – The Good Wife.
If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? – Sarah Palin.
