Nebraska ReBath was established based upon the belief that bathroom remodeling doesn’t need to be a messy, expensive headache. As a result, the company has pioneered an entirely new concept in bathtub and shower home remodeling called “The Refreshing Remodel.” Their team goes above and beyond to avoid minimal disruption to their clients’ normal daily lives and in preserving the tranquility of their clients’ homes with quiet, clean, quick and affordable bathroom remodeling. The Nebraska ReBath franchise is locally owned and operated by Todd Jones.
How did you get started in the business? – In 2009, after being faced with a layoff from Sprint, I decided that I wanted to purchase a franchise. Remodeling was always an interest of mine, and I researched ReBath quite a bit, met with the franchisors and realized it was the perfect fit so I took the plunge into business ownership.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – The #1 challenge for me as with any business is recruiting and finding the right team to make it all work. We need the right team on board so our customers will receive the best service experience available.
What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Starting Re-Bath from scratch; doing all of the sales, installs and growing it to a company with 11 employees.
Tell us a little about your family. – I have been married to my wife Stacie for 9 years and we have three children with our oldest in Kindergarten, so life is busy. My wife stays home with our kids which we feel is important, and that’s a tough job I would not trade for. Kudos to the stay-at-home moms and dads out there!
What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – In 1999 I started a career with Nextel Partners and it was the first job I ever really loved. It opened many doors for me and ultimately provided me the opportunity to start ReBath in 2009.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Day off? What’s that? Ok, if I do take time off it’s always to spend time with my family. I don’t miss many school events, Christmas programs or anything to do with the kids’ activities. I also enjoy camping and tinkering in the garage with cars.
What are you the most proud of? – I am most proud of my team at Re-Bath for always running the show so well.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – I probably picked this up from different mentors over the years and it’s more of an understanding than a single piece of advice. Achieving a goal, like owning a successful business for example, takes a simple understanding: being aware of the fact that you don’t know everything. I am not good at everything I try to do and my way is not always the best way to achieve a particular result. I don’t pretend to know better than someone else on any given topic whether it’s plumbing a bathtub or installing computer software. Knowing what each member of my team is good at and using those talents towards the goal is always a win-win situation.
If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – Optometry.
What is your favorite local restaurant? – The Watering Hole.
