Tell us a little about your business. – We are a full service auto shop, so we do everything from bumper to bumper including select interior and exterior repairs, emission work, engine work, diagnostics, tires, brakes, shocks and struts, suspension and steering components, all fluid services, and dealer maintenance on all vehicles foreign and domestic.
How did you get started in the business? – I started working for my dad while in high school, and then came on full-time the day after I graduated from Pius X. I left for a few years when I went into the Marines, which was the best thing I ever did! When I came home I had my kids very soon after and was lucky to have the opportunity to be home with them for nine years. I came back for more in 2011 and have been running the new store since.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – As a female in this industry, you have to know more about your product and others’ products more than anyone else.
What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Balancing two teenagers as a single mother, running a location, leading in sales, and getting dinner on the table at night…every day is an achievement!
Tell us a little about your family. – My entire family resides in Lincoln, there are 16 of us so things get a little crazy but that happens when you’re close! My children are Nick (14 — Yes another Nick, named after my brother!) and Tori (13). Jeff, my significant other, is a physical therapist and owns Peak Physical Therapy. He has one son, Max (12). Our family also includes two dogs; Spartacus is a Great Dane and Kota is a baby yellow Lab who is a therapy dog in training!
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – I guess that depends on the season! A perfect day would be lying by the pool, lunch with Jeff, going to the dog park with the kids, a nap, and cooking for all of my favorite people (specifically my son and his friend Jackson, my adopted son).
If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – If I could make a living working with animals I would, and I’d love to own a coffee shop too! I would also really like to help or mentor others who need assistance navigating through life with an alcoholic and how to process alcoholism and come out on the other side.
What is your favorite movie? – American Sniper.
What is your favorite TV show? – The Blacklist! I’m hooked and chomping at the bit to see all of the second season when it’s released!
What is your favorite local restaurant? – Issara, I can easily spend 2-3 hours at dinner there. Thai food is my favorite to eat and to cook!
