Over 400 guests attended the 17th Annual JDRF (jdrf.org) Dream Gala on March 28th at Embassy Suites-Lincoln. It was a record-setting event for the JDRF Heartland Chapter of Lincoln and Greater Nebraska, raising nearly $360,000. Presented by NBC and the Lee R. Stuart Family Foundation, the event commemorated the 40th anniversary of JDRF Lincoln, and honored the tremendous contributions of Mr. & Mrs. Lee and Debbie Stuart in support of JDRF’s mission.
Dream Gala guests united for the cause to cure, better treat and prevent type 1 diabetes (T1D), and enjoyed a hosted cocktail reception, a silent auction filled with one-of-a-kind items, and a gourmet dinner. Aaron Davis served as emcee for the night, and a fabulous live auction was held. Highlights included a ten day cruise for two to anywhere in the world, a Kentucky Derby package, and a one-year lease of an SLK 250 Mercedes Roadster. An inspiring Fund A Cure program concluded the evening with the stories of three local families all affected by T1D.
The JDRF Heartland Chapter of Lincoln and Greater Nebraska, staff and Board of Directors, is grateful to all the people who made the 17th Annual Dream Gala a huge success, including each and every guest, auction donor, and volunteer.
