On Sunday, September 13, Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska (LFS) (www.lfsneb.org) will hold its annual Faith in Action® dinner at Embassy Suites in La Vista, NE. This year’s event is titled Faith in Action®: Celebrating Those Who Generously Advance Safety, Hope and Well-Being for All People.
LFS will present the 2015 Douglas E. Parrott Faith in Action® Award to Dick and Dolores Zolnosky of Sioux City, IA for setting a lifetime standard of humble, faith-filled generosity of time, talent and treasure to those in need. The event also honors Betsy Timmerman and the Forever Families Guild. Timmerman is being recognized as Volunteer of the Year for harnessing “the power of one” and opening her heart and the hearts of others to embrace refugees. The Forever Families Guild is being named Volunteer Group of the Year for helping to create and restore safe and healthy childhoods by helping when able, volunteering when inspired and sharing stories of hope.
The People’s Health Center (PHC) is LFS’ 2015 Community Partner of the Year for partnering with LFS to advance the health and well-being of Lincoln’s most vulnerable. PHC is a partner in Health 360, a clinic providing residents of Lincoln, NE with an integrated and holistic approach towards meeting health care needs.
