On July 27th Americans for Prosperity-Nebraska (americansforprosperity.org) released the results of a recently conducted survey which measured the support of reducing the property tax levy in Lincoln. AFP-Nebraska is calling on the Lincoln Public Schools Board of Education to include significant tax relief in its upcoming budget.
AFP-Nebraska state director, Matt Litt, released the following statement about the survey findings:
“Lincolnites are with us. While Lincoln Public Schools board members may not think they have an obligation to reduce the property tax burden, a clear majority of their constituents do. After property re-evaluations by the Lancaster County assessor, Lincoln Public Schools will bring in $12 million in new property tax revenue. Lincolnites want to spend and invest this money as they see fit. This survey clearly shows strong support of lowering the tax levy. AFP-Nebraska supports Lincoln Public Schools’ commitment to students and their families and the levy should be lowered.”
AFP-Nebraska is the state’s foremost group of grassroots activists advocating for economic freedom. Full survey results can be found at americansforprosperity.org.
