Herbs & More has been serving the Lincoln community for 19 years and counting. The locally owned and operated store’s offerings include natural vitamins and supplements, homeopathic remedies, massage therapy supplies, aromatherapy (essential oils) and accessories, natural beauty care products, herbal teas, natural household and cleaning products…and More! Tell us a little about your business. – We sell herbal supplements, vitamins, and essential oils. We also have an in-house massage therapist and an esthetician.
How did you get started in the business? – I have had a love for plants and growing things for years, it has evolved over the years to organic gardening and herbs, from there it was an easy transition into an herbal supplement store.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Learning how to run/operate a business.
What has been your most important achievement professionally? – The open house we hosted in June. I had never been a part of collaborating anything like it. It was a great success!
Tell us a little about your family. – My husband and I have 3 kids. They are all furry and four-legged, and are all rescues. We love going anywhere they can run and be wild.
What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – I see one of my biggest turning points to be us buying Herbs & More; it has given me the dedicated time to research and learn about natural healing.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Go to the farmer’s market or work in my garden with my furry supervisors.
What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I went to school for interior design.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – What’s the worst that can happen? They can’t take your birthday away.
If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Creative.
If you could have a super power, what would it be? – To be able to remember everything I’ve ever read and recall it whenever I wanted.
What is your greatest talent that you don’t utilize in your daily work life? – Growing things: tropical plants, vegetables, herbs, etc.
Which talent would you most like to have? – To be able to turn down cupcakes.
If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – Owning and operating a greenhouse.
What local non-profit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? – I am very passionate about Hearts United for Animals. They have an amazing facility in Auburn. The need for the facility is heartbreaking but what they do is just amazing! Two of our three dogs came from them and because of that journey I will always adopt! They are challenging but so very worth it!
What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.
What is your favorite movie? – Chef.
What is your favorite TV show? – The Walking Dead.
