United Way of Lincoln (unitedwaylincoln.org) and Lancaster County and Community Health Charities announced at their kick-off on September 10, a $7.3 million goal for the 2015 campaign and are confident the community will come together to accomplish this.
More than 500 community leaders and supporters led by campaign co-chairs Bill Mueller and Kim Robak, gathered at the Railyard to kick-off the 2015 campaign. The breakfast was sponsored by the co-chairs law firm, Mueller Robak, LLC, and featured a flash mob by the Southeast High School jazz choir. This year’s campaign aims for a four percent increase over last year’s campaign total of $7,011,548.
“By achieving our goal we will show the youth of our community that we care about their future,” said Mueller. “We will also show our family, friends and neighbors that their needs are our needs. We want everyone to have a high quality of life in Lincoln.”
Mueller announced that thanks to the pacesetters and other early campaigns, $2,824,456 has already been raised to date, accounting for 39 percent of the overall campaign goal.
“To many of us supporting the campaign is just one deduction from a paycheck,” said Robak. “To someone in need it can help them get their life back, and there’s nothing better than that.”
“We have a great start, but let’s have an even stronger finish,” said Mueller. “This is our community, so let’s get this done.”
