Americans for Prosperity Nebraska Issues Statement on Rejection of Keystone XL Pipeline
President Obama and Secretary of State, John Kerry, recently announced that they are rejecting TransCanada’s application to build the Keystone XL pipeline across the Canadian border. The project would potentially bring thousands of jobs to the U.S. while also making energy more affordable.
In reaction to President Obama’s announcement, Matt Litt, AFP Nebraska’s State Director released the following statement:
“Approving the permit for the Keystone XL Pipeline would help protect Americans’ access to affordable and reliable energy. Our state would benefit greatly from this project as it would bring thousands of jobs and a booming industry would be great for our economy. It is disappointing that President Obama would rather stand for stagnant growth and a burdensome regulatory agenda. President Obama is willing to sacrifice economic growth for little-to-no environmental gains. Our organization has been on the front lines of informing Nebraskans on the importance of bringing the Keystone XL pipeline through our state.”
Americans for Prosperity Nebraska (www.americansforprosperity.org) is the state’s foremost group of grassroots activists advocating for energy freedom. AFP Nebraska supports the Keystone XL Pipeline as a way to bring affordable and reliable energy to Nebraska and the rest of the country. Americans for Prosperity included approving the Keystone XL Pipeline in its Reform America agenda.
