Family Service Association of Lincoln Achieves National Accreditation

Family Service Association of Lincoln (www.familyservicelincoln.org) has achieved national accreditation through the New York-based Council on Accreditation (COA). Family Service Association of Lincoln provides the following services:

• Counseling Support and Education Services through the Behavioral Health Program

• Early Childhood Education through the Early Childcare Center

• Youth Development Services through the Before and After School Program

It took Family Service Association of Lincoln 16 months to achieve re-accreditation. Organizations pursue accreditation to demonstrate the implementation of best practice standards in the field of human services. COA evaluated all aspects of Family Service Association of Lincoln’s programs, services, management, and administration.

To achieve COA accreditation, Family Service Association of Lincoln first provided written evidence of compliance with COA Standards. Thereafter, a group of specially trained volunteer Peer Reviewers confirmed adherence to these standards during a series of on-site interviews with trustees, staff and clients. Based upon their findings, COA’s volunteer-based Accreditation Commission voted that Family Service Association of Lincoln had successfully met the criteria for accreditation.
