Pius X Students Contribute to Operation Christmas Child
Pius X (www.piusx.net) student members of Club World Aid partnered with students from Mrs. Bradley’s class to pack boxes for a non-profit organization called Operation Christmas Child, an organization that works to provide international relief to countries in need.
The mission of OCC is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to needy children around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the good news of Jesus Christ. OCC packs shoe boxes full of supplies and small gifts and sends them to children of different ages around the world who are in need. The shoe boxes contain hygiene items, school supplies, personal care items, and hard candy as well as small toys and gifts.
The students worked together to purchase items which would be packed in a shoe box. During a packing party, the students shared supplies to pack boxes full of items like crayons, pencils, toothpaste, soap, hair ties, stickers, Play-Doh, stuffed animals, and puzzles. The students even included a letter or prayer for the child in the box. Club World Aid, along with Mrs. Bradley’s class packed a total of 56 boxes for Operation Christmas Child.
