How did you get started in the business? – I began nursing in 1997 and obtained my oncology certification in 2007. My belief is constant education helps to develop confident, compassionate caregivers. I worked for Bryan Health, Southeast Nebraska Cancer Center and for the last three years as a hospice case manager with Hospice Community Care until accepting the position as Executive Director in 2014.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Time management, including work/family balance. I’m sure every working mom has that challenge! I look forward to the moments spent with my family and friends.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – My sister’s death in 1998 led me to pursue a higher nursing education and inspired me to live life fully. I count every moment as precious with my family and feel this adds to the care and compassion we give to families entering hospice care.
What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I worked in a meat packing plant prior to becoming a nurse! I learned a lot about my ability to endure physically challenging work and how to work well on a team to achieve a goal.
