AFP Nebraska Applauds Unicameral for Advancing Direct Primary Care Act
On March 8th the Nebraska Legislature advanced the Direct Primary Care Act (LB 817) out of General File, by a vote of 38 Ayes, 0 Nayes and 7 Present Not Voting. Americans for Prosperity Nebraska (www.AmericansForProsperity.org) took an early stance on this issue, advocating for its passage. AFP Nebraska State Director Matt Litt released the following statement:
“Due to Obamacare, Nebraskans have seen a 17% increase in their premiums. Direct Primary Care is making primary care more affordable and accessible for people across the country. The bill focuses on the true purpose of healthcare reform — which is to provide access to care, rather than merely access to insurance,” said Litt.
Litt concluded, “We applaud the 38 members of the Unicameral for advancing the Direct Primary Care Act to Select File and urge the members to send the bill to Gov. Ricketts’ desk.”
