Pinot’s Palette – Paint. Drink. Have Fun.

Pinot’s Palette, the rapidly growing paint and sip sensation with a nationwide network of over 180 franchises, recently opened a studio in Lincoln at 40th & Yankee Hill Rd.

Pinot’s Palette is dedicated to providing an upscale experience, with exceptional quality and care during an entertaining yet relaxing, fun and social night out. Featuring a very cool purpose-built studio, fine wines (and great beers too), a treasure trove of copyrighted paintings to choose from that have been designed by its national network of artists, and of course, lots and lots of paint, the artist instructors at Pinot’s Palette will guide you through the creation process.  At the end of the evening, you will take home your very own masterpiece.

Interview with J. Christopher Cook, Owner of the Lincoln Pinot’s Palette Franchise

Do you have a business philosophy or mission statement? – Pinot’s Palette’s mission is to bring art to the masses through a fun and entertaining atmosphere with extraordinary customer service.

What do you think makes you different from other companies similar to yours? – We are focused on providing a high quality entertainment experience, investing in the engineering so that we have the best lighting, sound and microphone systems, A/V equipment, music selection, and customer-friendly, upscale facilities in the market.  Our studios are specifically designed so that guests can see AND hear what is going on; we even have an overhead TV in place displaying the live stream of the instructor painting so that everyone can see what is going on clearly.

Because there are so many talented artists working at the Pinot’s Palette studios across the United States, all of the locations have access to a vast large library of copyrighted and tested paintings that we can choose from for our events at the Lincoln studio.  This ensures that customers can successfully create a painting they will be proud to display.  In addition to our schedule of classes, special events, and private parties, we can host unique teambuilding and corporate events that encourage collaboration, creativity, group effort and fun.

As we have highly skilled artists right here at the Lincoln studio who facilitate our classes, we can also design unique paintings for groups and parties. We’re proud to have put together a team of artists, all with fine arts degrees, who are extraordinary painters and fantastic entertainers—they are a lot of fun and just a really great group to be a part of in general.

What do you like about doing business in Lincoln so far? – Everyone is friendly and very encouraging. Lincoln is a community that truly values the arts, as evidenced with such a vibrant arts scene supported by local organizations like the Lincoln Arts Council, and a strong arts education program offered by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. All of the local businesses and associations in terms of contractors and suppliers we’ve worked with thus far have been first class too.  The people are refreshingly honest and genuine here.

As a franchisee in a creative market, I also have the opportunity to experiment with classes, events, paintings, team building and corporate events, parties, kid’s classes, etc.  I think of this as a tremendous opportunity to entertain people and let them experience the joy that comes from laying bright colors on a canvas.  My goal is to get everyone in town to pick up a paintbrush and do a painting!

What kind of community organizations/groups are you involved with? – With the opening of the first Pinot’s Palette studio in Lincoln, we’ve recently become members of the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce and Lincoln Independent Business Association, but we look forward to getting involved with others in the future.

What changes have you seen in the industry and your company in the past few years? – As the franchise has matured, facilities and methods have improved and the teaching techniques have been developed and refined so that people are able to achieve the best paintings possible.  The paintings themselves have also improved in quality as more artists have joined Pinot’s Palette, which provides incentives for our artists to develop new paintings.  Pinot’s Palette was founded with the commitment to offer quality artwork that is well designed, interesting and fun to paint, and that remains our focus to this day.

What do you see happening with the business in the next five years? – I see continued growth in the entertainment sector as people are looking for unique experiences that are fun, social and creative.
