Save the Date: Lincoln G.O.L.D to Host 2nd Annual Scholarship Gala

Lincoln G.O.L.D.’s (LincolnGold.org) 2nd annual Scholarship Gala will take place on March 18th, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. at The Cornhusker Hotel. The purpose of the Gala is to raise funds for scholarships for Lincoln area high school seniors who plan to attend an in-state college. Students selected for the Lincoln G.O.L.D. scholarship exhibit strong leadership skills and community service. The Gala is also an opportunity to celebrate the Lincoln G.O.L.D. mentorship program.

G.O.L.D. stands for Girls Organization for Leadership and Development. The mission of Lincoln G.O.L.D. is to engage in educational instruction through community involvement; to build character, confidence, courage, and effective communication skills in young women as they prepare for post-secondary education or other vocational endeavors. The board members of Lincoln G.O.L.D. strive to develop young women and keep leaders in Nebraska. In 2015, thanks to sponsors and funds raised at the Scholarship Gala, Lincoln G.O.L.D. mentored 31 young women and awarded 20 $2,000 scholarships to students attending Nebraska colleges. Through generous donations, Lincoln G.O.L.D. hopes to grow and provide more scholarships to high school seniors in our community. This year, 32 girls have worked endlessly making the Lincoln community a better place to live!
