Star City 6: Beth Friesen
Beth Friesen, RN, CCM, CSA is the owner of Oasis Senior Advisors (lincoln.oasissenioradvisors.com), a free, local, community-based referral placement service for seniors and their family members.
Tell us a little about your business.
Oasis Senior Advisors is a referral placement service specifically geared towards seniors who are no longer able to live at home. Our role is to educate and inform clients about the many options here in the Lincoln community and surrounding areas. Any assistance we provide is absolutely free of charge, no strings attached. We work with seniors and their loved ones in order to streamline the process of finding new living arrangements, which unfortunately can be an extremely stressful situation. We also connect clients to other resources they may need.
How did you get started in the business?
My mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2010, and as a result, I developed a great passion for not only dementia care, but elder care in general. That passion combined with my years of experience as a registered nurse was what prompted me to start my own business, and that was the beginning of Oasis Senior Advisors.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally?
I’ve found that of those who are going through the process of finding their elderly loved ones new places to call home, and not just anywhere but at a facility that’s the best fit possible for that individual, many do not know that a service like mine exists. By simply applying the right expertise, I’m able to minimize the stress of this process on everyone involved.
What has been your most important achievement professionally?
Bringing calm to the storms that people are going through during this pivotal time in their lives and all of the changes that it brings. Seeing the tears of relief, and all of the new relationships I’ve made so far, have been rewarding beyond measure.
Tell us a little about your family.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
