On Saturday, July 30, Savannah residents, along with the general public, had the opportunity to attend their very own hoedown featuring Burnt Biskits. This musical group consists of guitars, banjo, bass and mandolin to produce their bluegrass style. As the finale of the week, it follows various other activities to recognize Ole’ Time Settler Week. Events included a presentation of the Orphan Train given by author of Trains of Promise, Charlotte Endorf, Indian Wars & Nebraska Forts remembrance by Jeff Barnes who wrote Forts of the Northern Plains, and a Victorian apparel fashion show by Sue McLain.
Ole’ Time Settler Week was an entertaining way for the residents to recognize, remember and learn about historical moments from the past.
