The United States Hockey League has released the official schedule for the 2011-12 season.
For the first time in franchise history, the Stars will host a home game on the same date as a home Nebraska football game on Saturday, November 5th. “We had an opportunity to gain an additional weekend date, and after receiving unanimous support from a sampling of fans, decided we’d give it a try. We feel it should make for a great sports day in Lincoln,” said Stars Vice President Steve Zoucha.
Other games of interest at the Ice Box include: Friday, September 30th, Home Opening Night vs. Sioux Falls; Saturday, November 12th, “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” Night vs. Omaha, with commemorative jerseys worn and auctioned post-game; Friday, December 2nd, Annual “Teddy Bear Toss” with 104.1 The Blaze vs. Omaha; Saturday, March 17th, St. Patrick’s Day Game vs. Des Moines and TBD (March date), Annual “Jerseys Off Our Backs” Night, benefiting the American Cancer Society.
