Raising Cane’s Collecting Winter Coats for People’s City Mission
Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers (facebook.com/CanesNebraska) is collecting new and gently used winter coats at all four Lincoln restaurants (48th & R, 28th & Cornhusker, 58th & Old Cheney, 14th & P). The coats will be donated to those in need at the People’s City Mission and Homeless Prevention Center. From October 1 through October 31, individuals will receive a free meal with purchase offer when a coat is donated in support of the cause.
Since its creation in 2007, supporters have donated over 15,300 new and gently-used coats to those in need. “Each year as winter starts to set in, there are thousands of children and adults who don’t have a winter coat to keep them warm,” said Jennifer Jones, Co-Owner of the Lincoln Raising Cane’s franchise. “As we kick-off the 11th year of our coat drive, we’re asking for your help to spread warmth this season by cleaning out your closets, and donating them to those who need them most in the Lincoln community,” she continues.
Since 2006, the local franchise has given back over $1.4 million to its restaurants’ communities through programs such as this one. Stay connected on social media: facebook.com/CanesNebraska or twitter.com/CanesLincoln.
