Home Care Partners to Host Free Senior Safety Lunch & Learn
Home Care Partners (www.homecarepartnersofnebraska.com) and thousands of organizations across the country are gearing up for National Safety Month, which focuses on reducing leading causes of injury and death in our homes.
Falls are one of the most common sources of injury among seniors. According to the National Council on Aging, one in four Americans age 65 and older falls every year, and falls are the number one cause of injury-related death for older adults. More than half of home accidents can be avoided, and you’ll have the opportunity to learn how at an upcoming lunch and learn on Wednesday, May 30 at 11:30 a.m. at Gere Library, 2400 S. 56th Street.
With a panel of experts, Home Care Partners will provide access to resources highlighting different safety topics including: Home Safety, Emergency Preparedness, Wellness, Fall Prevention, and How to Age-In-Place Safely.
