American Cancer Society to Host Lincoln’s 11th Annual Hope Gala

Join the American Cancer Society in their mission to save lives, celebrate lives, and lead the fight for a world without cancer at Lincoln’s 11th annual Hope Gala (HOPEGALA.org) on Friday, November 16 from 6 to 10 p.m. It will be a one-of-a-kind evening with great food, featuring Smart Chicken, specialty cocktails, dancing, a spectacular auction, and much more.

If you know a child who has been cured of leukemia, a friend who has been treated with tamoxifen for breast cancer, a family member who has a regular Pap test, or a cancer survivor celebrating another birthday, then you know someone who has benefited from the American Cancer Society’s research.

The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing the suffering from cancer through education, advocacy and service. By taking what they’ve learned through research and translating it into action, the American Cancer Society has contributed to a 25% decrease in the overall US cancer death rate since 1991. That means that they’ve helped avoid nearly 2.1 million cancer deaths during that time.
