Lincoln Breast Cancer Alliance Launched Community Education Campaign

The Lincoln Breast Cancer Alliance (@LNKBCA) has launched a new community education campaign about the value of risk assessment for cancer screening. The GetScreened.net campaign focuses on why family cancer history and personal risk factors are important, what your doctor needs to know, and how to share important health information with family members.

The goal of the campaign is to motivate Lincoln area residents to use the free tools available on the GetScreened.net website to assess their personal and family history cancer risk factors, share the information with their healthcare providers and family members, and get the appropriate cancer screening tests. Regular screenings can help find cancer early, reduce treatment costs, and save lives.

The first step in getting proper screenings is to know your risk factors. This information helps your doctor determine what screening tests are right for you and when you should get them.

Volunteers with the Lincoln Breast Cancer Alliance can provide on-site education to your employees or help worksite wellness staff utilize the educational materials available on the website for their own customized wellness programming.
