Raising Cane’s Donates Over 1.8K Winter Coats to the People’s City Mission

The Lincoln Raising Cane’s restaurants recently wrapped up their October coat drive. Distribution of the winter coats to shelter residents was held on November 6, and made available to the public at the Help Center on November 7.

Individuals were asked to bring in new and gently used winter coats to be given to those in need at the People’s City Mission and Help Center (peoplescitymission.org). Through these efforts, over 1,800 winter coats were donated by individuals in the Lincoln community.

This was the 12th year the Raising Cane’s franchise—Southern Hospitality Ventures—has held a coat drive at their restaurants. Since 2007, over 21,000 winter coats have been donated to those in need in their restaurants’ communities.

The Raising Cane’s franchise—Southern Hospitality Ventures—was opened in 2006 by Justin and Jennifer Jones, who moved to the Midwest from Louisiana. Since opening their first location, they have set out to make a change in their community by becoming active community leaders with programs such as this one.
