Tell us a little about your business.
We provide customers with an awesome landscape experience. We make it fun and easy to understand what’s being done during the landscaping process. Not only do we do full installation, we cater to the DIYers who want to do it themselves, but don’t know how!
How did you get started in the business?
My fiancé Ken and I have always wanted to own our own company together. With Ken’s 40+ years of experience in landscaping, we knew this was a no-brainer for us!
Tell us a little about your family.
I am the youngest of seven and have two amazing, loving parents! I also have two grown daughters and Ken has two grown children, who have given us a total of nine grandkids. We are all very close and our hearts are full.
What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life?
Ending my 26-year career in physical therapy. I had a passion to be my own boss in order to have more time and freedom for myself and my loved ones, and it has proven to be the best decision.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?
What is a day off? Just kidding! Since we don’t do snow removal, I’m fortunate to have more free time in the winter months. I love traveling, golfing (with a cart and cold beverage, of course!), and visiting wineries.
What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know?
I competed in a bodybuilding competition in my late 20s, when my daughters were young. I placed first in the lightweight division…I was also the only one in my division (LOL).
Who inspires you?
My kids and grandkids. They are so driven and full of life!
What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
If you’re going to make a move professionally, make sure it’s two steps forward, not just one.
If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be?
Spirited!
If you had a theme song, what would it be?
“Turn The Page” by Bob Seger.
If you could have a super power, what would it be?
Saving others from disease and illness.
If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be?
A full-time world traveler.
What local non-profit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why?
Capital Humane Society. They handled the cremation of my Great Dane less than a year ago and they were so loving, compassionate, and sympathetic.
What is your favorite book or the last good book you read?
You Are A Badass by Jen Sincero.
What is your favorite movie?
Dumb and Dumber.
What is your favorite TV show?
Bachelor/ette…I can’t believe I just admitted that!
