CEF of Nebraska Offers “Christian Youth in Action” Summer Programs
Child Evangelism Fellowship® of Nebraska (CEF® of Nebraska; www.cefnebraska.org) knows that many teens find themselves bored with little to do during the summer. After enjoying their “freedom” from school, they then can be hard pressed to find activities to keep them busy. That is why CEF of Nebraska offers Christian Youth in Action (CYIA), a summer program designed to train young people in effective and engaging ways to teach children about Jesus.
CYIA provides teens ages 13 and up the opportunity to make an eternal impact in the lives of kids. Teens attend a one-week training camp where they learn to present the Gospel clearly, not only on a child’s level, but also to their peers and adults. They learn to counsel a child for salvation and lead a dynamic club (5-Day Club) ministry for kids. Last year, nearly 150 young people from across Nebraska attended one of three CYIA’s summer programs.
CEF of Nebraska will offer three CYIA’s again this summer: CYIA North, May 19–24 at Camp Assurance near Belden, NE; CYIA East, June 2–8 at Camp Moses Merrill near Linwood, NE; and CYIA Central, June 9–15 at Whispering Cedars Baptist Camp near Genoa, NE.
After the training, the teens are expected to teach at least four 5-Day Clubs® (5DC), which are similar to Vacation Bible Schools in neighborhood homes, parks, day cares, and wherever children might be present.
To help keep the cost of the trainings low, CYIA sponsors are always needed. To help make an eternal difference, contact CEF of Nebraska at (402) 484-7877 / office@ceflincoln.org. Learn more online at www.cefnebraska.org.
