Decks Unlimited Gives Webelos Pack 404 a Construction Experience

On January 31, Scouts from Webelos Pack 404 visited the Decks Unlimited (decksunlimitedne.com) shop to learn the ins and outs of construction. Decks Unlimited Owner Dan Waters and his crew talked to the boys and girls about understanding blueprints, what it takes to obtain a building permit, how to build a deck, and they even helped build a step for Decks Unlimited’s booth at the Home & Garden Show on February 8–9 at the Lancaster Event Center.

Decks Unlimited foresees skilled tradesman being in short supply in the future, which is why they are dedicating time now to invest in the professional development of today’s youth. By inviting groups like Boy Scout troops to their shop for an interactive learning experience, Decks Unlimited hopes to show younger generations that building with your hands is an honorable and rewarding profession. College isn’t always an option for everyone, so Decks Unlimited believes it is important to let kids know that there are other options.
