Beth Friesen of Oasis Senior Advisors to Host Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care Seminar

On July 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Oasis Senior Advisors of Lincoln (www.BethFriesenRN.com) Owner Beth Friesen will be hosting an Alzheimer’s disease and Dementia care seminar at the Home Instead Training Center (1400 Dahlberg Dr., STE E). This seminar fulfills the live requirement for those pursing the CDP (Certified Dementia Practitioner) certification. It may also be taken for continuing education credits and/or personal knowledge. Anyone who comes into contact with those living with dementia in the healthcare field is able to attend.

Topics covered include introduction to dementia prognosis and treatment; communication and feelings; depression and repetitive behaviors; paranoia, hallucinations, wandering, and hoarding; aggressive behaviors and catastrophic reactions; intimacy and sexuality; personal care: bathing, dressing, and toileting; pain and nutrition; activities; environment; staff and family support; abuse and neglect; diversity and cultural competence; and spiritual care and end of life.

Beth recently became a Certified Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Trainer. This certification was obtained through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners.
