American Cancer Society Presents Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K
American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) is excited to host the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K on Sunday, October 20 at Holmes Lake Park. This noncompetitive walk is the American Cancer Society’s premier event to fight breast cancer, and it is meant to unite the Lincoln community by honoring and celebrating breast cancer survivors, educate women about prevention and early detection, and raise money to fund lifesaving research and support programs. Day of check-in will open at 11:30 a.m. and the 5K will begin at 1 p.m. When you register for the walk, you can choose to lead a team, join an existing team, or walk solo.
Donating or participating in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K event allows the American Cancer Society to get one step closer to their goal. The American Cancer Society is on a mission to free the world from cancer. To do this, they fund and conduct research, act as an information network for patients and their families, and rally communities to join in the fight. They do everything from funding innovating breast cancer research to simply providing a hand to hold during treatment and recovery.
