Angels Among Us Partners with Colorado-Based Organization, Bags of Fun

Angels Among Us has formed a new partnership with Bags of Fun, an organization that has newly spread to Nebraska. Their mission is to deliver a Bag of Fun to every sick child whose health and happiness is both compromised and threatened.

This partnership with allow for Angels Among Us and Bags of Fun to offer a high-end, durable book bag filled with a tablet, Amazon gift card, and brand-new rehabilitative toys to every pediatric cancer patient being treated at both Children’s Hospital and Medical Center and Nebraska Medicine. These bags that bring joy to families with big battles are valued at over $350.

“This partnership is a way for Angels Among Us to love on our cancer families in yet another way, while joining forces with another organization. Anytime we can partner with someone else to better serve our families, we will. Bags of Fun is an incredible way to do that,” Aly Theilen says.

Bags of Fun is based out in Colorado and was inspired by Gabby Krause. An amazing six-year old girl who died in September of 2004 after her brave fight against brain cancer. During her treatment her mom always packed a bag of fun, and Gabby always wondered why other kids didn’t have their own bag. Bags of Fun was created in the spirit of Gabby’s original bag of toys and fun activities that kept her happy and silly during hours of chemo and treatment.

Angels Among Us is a Nebraska nonprofit that provides financial and emotional support to families whose children are battling pediatric cancer. Any family living-in or being treated in Nebraska is eligible to apply for financial support. In 2018, Angels Among Us provided financial support to 99 families, giving over $355,000, so they were able to remain stable during their pediatric cancer journey.
