American Heart Association Holds Another Successful Go Red for Women Event

Lincoln’s mothers, sisters, and friends came together at the American Heart Association’s (www.heart.org) 2019 Lincoln Go Red for Women on October 3, locally sponsored by Hexagon. This empowering event focuses on preventing heart disease and stroke by promoting healthy lifestyles, building awareness, and raising critically-needed funds to support research and education initiatives.

The unforgettable evening inspired more than 500 guests to honor the heart health of the women in their lives, and more than $70,000 was raised to go towards the fight against heart disease and stroke.

Angie Jorgensen was this year’s guest of honor and featured survivor. Through sharing her heart-wrenching story of suffering a stroke and heart attack, she inspired the audience with her positivity and story of recovery. Joining Jorgensen to share their own personal stories of resilience was the Lincoln Go Red for Women Survivor Show. The runway featured women of various ages sharing their story of why they support the American Heart Association.

Go Red For Women is one of the premier American Heart Association fundraising events both locally and across the nation. The next event will be held in the fall of 2020. Keep up with the American Heart Association by going online to www.heart.org.
