Southeast Community College Opens New Coffee Shop on Lincoln Campus

With the recent opening of a new coffee shop, students and staff at Southeast Community College’s (SCC) Lincoln Campus (www.southeast.edu) don’t have to leave to get their coffee fix anymore! Vanilla lattes and caramel macchiatos are just steps away at Course Ground Coffee, which is located in proximity to the SCC Great Plains Culinary Institute’s Course Restaurant.

The coffee shop opened in August at the beginning of the fall semester. Many people had expressed a desire for a coffee shop on campus. The new shop provides benefits beyond simply satisfying a craving for coffee. The coffee shop is prime space for the sale of baking items prepared fresh in the Culinary/Hospitality Program’s classes. It’s also a perfect place for barista training and coffee roasting. All of this adds relevant content and opportunities to the Culinary/Hospitality Program.

In addition to many types of coffee drinks, the shop also sells hot and iced tea, chai lattes, hot chocolate, lemonade, juice, and smoothies. Food items include breakfast sandwiches, scones, coffee cakes, oatmeal, lunch sandwiches, and wraps. The majority of the food is made at Course Restaurant by students. There’s also a “Mug Club” through which customers can buy a gold Course travel mug for $15 to get 50 cents off all subsequent drink orders.

Visit the Southeast Community College in Lincoln today to check out Course Ground Coffee’s exciting offerings anytime Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. To learn more about Course or the Culinary/Hospitality Program at SCC, visit www.southeast.edu or call (402) 437-2727.
