Nebraska Restaurant Association to Host Fundraising Event for National Competition

The Nebraska Restaurant Association (nebraska-dining.org) will host their first annual Future Culinary ProStars of Nebraska on January 12 from 4–6 p.m. at the Timber Wood Fire Bistro, 8702 Pacific St. Future Culinary ProStars is a new fundraising event for ProStart, a program of the Nebraska Restaurant Association’s Hospitality Education Foundation.

This is a fun and interactive event through which ProStart student teams will be paired with celebrated local chefs to prepare and serve small plate tastings. Attendees will have an opportunity to sample the dishes while networking with industry professionals and meeting rising Culinary ProStars of the future. Poultry, beef, seafood, pork, and vegetarian small plates will be served for all to enjoy. Evening activities will include a silent auction, gift card pulls, Artesian Christopher Elbow Chocolates, cash bar, and more! Cost for attendance is $60 per person.

Money raised at “Future Culinary ProStars of Nebraska” supports the mission of the Nebraska Restaurant Association to represent, educate, and promote the hospitality industry across the state. The proceeds from the “Future Culinary ProStars of Nebraska” small plate tasting fundraiser will defray travel, preparation, and participation expenses for Nebraska teams that will compete in the 2020 National ProStart Invitational on May 8–10 in Washington, D.C. The Nebraska Restaurant Association hopes to establish Nebraska as “the food state” at the competition.
