Bright Lights to Celebrate Reconnecting with Childhood through “Night Lights” Event
Bright Lights (BrightLights.org) is hosting “Night Lights,” a celebratory fundraising event held on Saturday, February 29, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Turbine Flats. Night Lights will allow adults to “be a kid again” by giving adults an evening to experience fun, hands-on classes similar to what students enjoy each summer. The funds raised support the Bright Lights program, which provides K–8th grade students with engaging, content-rich classes that build both academic and critical thinking skills.
Just like students do at Bright Lights, Night Lights attendees select the class that interests them the most. They can choose from:
- Ice, Ice, Baby: Cupcake Decorating with Wine Pairing
- This Little Piggy Went to Billy’s: Cooking with Nebraska Pork
- Abstract Artist: Acrylic Painting
- Pour Me: A Whiskey Tasting
There’s also a Study Hall available for anyone wanting to just enjoy the evening socializing.
Tickets are $50 each and include heavy appetizers, desserts, and choice of one class. Tickets and full descriptions of each class can be found online (bit.ly/NightLights20). Space in each class is limited!
Bright Lights is a nonprofit that takes learning beyond the classroom by providing youth with unique hands-on learning opportunities since 1987. Each summer, Bright Lights services more than 1,000 students through their half-day classes and full-day camps. Need-based scholarships are awarded each year.
