Tell us a little about your business.

We do many facets of construction, but our specialty is pre-engineered steel buildings. We have developed a team that can work seamlessly with all phases of construction. From the beginning design phases, ordering, and delivery of the building materials, to the crews in the field that bring the owners’ and architects’ visions to life. We have built our company on the foundations of family and hard work, and our goal is to treat everyone we work with and for as a valued family member.

How did you get started in the business?

I got my start in construction in high school. I needed a summer job and thought, “I get to carry heavy things, use power tools, and get a tan!” Who knew I would actually be walking into my career path.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally?

Learning how to delegate responsibilities and trust my team.

What has been your most important achievement professionally?

Being asked to join the Advisory Committee for the Construction Management program at my alma mater, South Dakota State University. Ironhide Construction sponsors a scholarship there, too. It is such an honor to be able to give back to the place that gave me so much. In addition, being appointed to the Board of Directors of the newly-formed local chapter of Metal Building Contractors and Erectors Association (MBCEA).

Tell us a little about your family.
