CBMC Lincoln’s 19th Annual Golf Classic Set for September 15

Annually, over 100 golfers attend CBMC Lincoln’s (Lincoln.cbmc.com) Golf Classic and luncheon at Wilderness Ridge Golf Course. This year’s tournament will be held on Tuesday, September 15. Golfers will enjoy a great luncheon and speaker, some great golf at a premier course, auction items, raffle prizes, and multiple team and pin prizes.

This year’s guest speaker is Ron “Gus” Gustafson. Growing up, Gus had great parents, great siblings, and a great future. He was the biggest, fastest, and strongest in his athletic family at his age. He had dreams of being the next Nebraska Husker I-back and then on to the NFL. Then came a major tragedy. Gus battled for his life at age nine following a tractor accident that took his right arm and shoulder and crushed his right leg. Despite his injury, he was determined to excel in athletics. He played varsity basketball, achieving Honorable Mention All-State, and went on to play collegiate ball until it was ended with a knee injury. Gus will talk about his life-changing accident, the impact his Christian faith has had on his life, and will challenge attendees to “Turn your Setbacks into Comebacks”. Gus has spoken to over one million people over his 20-year speaking career.
