TeamMates Mentoring of Lincoln Seeking Businesses to Host Presentations for Staff
TeamMates Mentoring of Lincoln (LincolnTeamMates.org) is seeking local businesses that are willing to host recruitment presentations for their staff members. The organization provides youth in grades 3-12 with a one-on-one adult mentor who provides support and encouragement. In-person and virtual mentoring are available depending on the student’s and mentor’s circumstances. While TeamMates currently has 1,100 matches, there are still 800 more students awaiting a mentor, and presentations to business staffs can help dramatically when it comes to identifying adults interested in mentoring students.
“Our partnerships with businesses are fundamental to our success as an organization,” said Lincoln TeamMates Coordinator Jim Bennet. “We have some greater partners, but would love to add more this year. Businesses benefit from volunteering by uplifting the community, and by doing so, they demonstrate the mission and values of their company as part of the community.”
Employees who become mentors bring tremendous benefits to their company workforce and productivity, too. TeamMates surveys participants annually, and results continuously show that after their mentoring visits, mentors return to work more engaged, hopeful, and in a better mood.
